Prayer is a time to be still with the Lord, for Him to speak to you, for you to just listen. To grow in relationship with God, we are to listen to Him, be still to hear Him.
Prayer has been practiced in all religions throughout history. Prayer may involve confessions-forgiveness, petitions or requests, thanks, praise, reconciliation, or promises of future acts of devotion.
Prayer changes things within us and for others. Prayer is about developing a relationship with God, not just "believing in God". God is consistent with us. Could we learn to be consistent with God? Are you ready to try for yourself, and for what God can do for others through you?
The Taizé Community is an ecumenical Christian monastic order in Taize, France, founded in 1940. The community has become one of the world's most important sites of different cultures and different Christian traditions. The Taize community has sought to demonstrate this in the music and prayers, where songs are sung in many languages, and have included chants and icons from the Eastern Orthodox tradition. Through the Taize community's ecumenical outlook, they are encouraged to live in the spirit of kindness, simplicity and reconciliation. The music emphasizes simple phrases, usually lines from Psalms or other pieces of Scripture, repeated and sometimes also sung in canon.
Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church's Open Prayer Morning is a time of silent, contemplative prayer for all people; a time to reflect and meditate on the Psalms. A Prayer Minister is available for one-on-one prayers. Come for one half-hour segment or stay the morning
